09 Dec PAPIER HIER

Papier Hier is an illegal copy shop, designed to attract the attention of Dutch people in order to highlight problems undocumented immigrants face and to question the value of these official papers.

Many qualified people are eager to work but lost their documents while fleeing violence, such as the civil war in Syria.

Papier Hier is run by three students who print passports, diplomas, ID cards, and other forged documents to make a statement and engage in personal conversations in a creative way. They are also printing, copying, and scanning documents to create an online open archive.

On November 24th Papier Hier was printing diplomas at the In Limbo Embassy to visitors of the Boijmans van Beuningen museum as part of the “Migration Matters” exhibit.
